THE ONE FOR ME
Chapter 4

When Samantha got home she walked to her room, took off her glasses and sneakers then sat down at her desk and began to do her homework. She finished it two hours later and was surprised that both her parents were home. They both usually worked late and weren't home until around nine and here they were at seven. Samantha shrugged it off and called her mother to her room.

"So what'd you want sweetie?" her mother asked her.

"Druex's in town and he wants to take me out on a date so I need you to help me get ready and to keep daddy in check," Samantha said.

"Of course...so where are you going?" her mother asked her.

"I'm not sure but I figure that it isn't formal or he would have told me...besides he doesn't look like the type of person to go overly formal if it's not needed," Samantha replied.

"What time will he be here to pick you up?" Samantha's mother asked.

"Around eight o'clock," Samantha answered.

"That gives you an hour, so why don't you go take a shower while I look through your wardrobe and see what I think will go," Samantha's mother replied.

Samantha nodded and walked out of her room and into her connecting bathroom where she proceeded to take a shower using her Warm Vanilla Sugar body wash.

Alicia, Samantha's mother, watched her daughter walk into the bathroom before she stood up from her position on the bed and made her way to Samantha's closet. She pushed and pulled through the numerous articles of clothing before she walked out with about ten hangers in her hands that made up three outfits. Alicia neatly laid each outfit on the bed before she walked back into the closet to choose a purse for each outfit and to the dresser where she took out different accessories. As she finished laying everything out Samantha came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her.

"So what do you think?" Alicia asked motioning towards the clothes.

"I love that brown outfit. I think that I'll be wearing that," Samantha said while she opened her top drawer and pulled out her undergarments.

"Alright," Alicia said as she stood and made her way to the door, "Oh and you can invite your...friend to the our Christmas party this year."

"It's going to be at Tavern on the Green this year right?" Samantha asked as pulled on the undergarments she had picked out.

"Yes," Alicia said before she walked out of the room.

Samantha put on a henna tattoo balconet bra and low rise thongset then massaged the Warm Vanilla Sugar Purely Silk body lotion that left your skin feeling silky smooth onto her body then she smeared on the Purely Silk Body Lustre that left a faint gold shimmer on her skin then began to get dressed.

She put on her black long sleeved Arden B. tunic then she slid into her blue low rise Arden B. jeans. She then put on her black leather Gucci belt, more so for keep the jeans at a reasonable level than for fashion. She then walked back into the bathroom and quickly brushed her hair then began to apply a light amount of make up before walking back into her room.

Once she was in her room she put on her black and white Louis Vuitton pumps then put on her black hat. As she walked into the closet to get her coat she heard the doorbell ring. She knew her mother would answer it so she headed back into the closet and continued the task on getting her coat. She took out a Cognac colored Luxe shearling coat that was rich in texture and was elegantly styled with slit pockets. She picked up her black and white Louis Vuitton purse that had her wallet, makeup and other essential things in it before turning off her lights and walking out of her room.

She walked down the hall and made her way into the main living room where she knew her Druex would be waiting for her. She also knew that her mother was there as well to make sure that her father didn't scare Druex half to death with his overprotectiveness. She arrived into the vast room a few seconds later and was greeted warmly by Druex.

"Bye Ma...Pop. I'll be home around eleven, twelve at the latest," Samantha said before leading Druex out of the condo.

"That was uncomfortable," Druex said when they were safely away from her door.

"I know. My father can be overproctive when he wants to be," Samantha said as they walked into the elevator. It was then that she noticed the body guard that followed a few feet behind them.

"So are we taking your car or mine?" Samantha asked.

"Mine. Oh excuse me. I forgot to introduce you to Charlie," Driuex said. "Charlie this is Samantha," Druex said to his bodyguard while motioning towards Samantha. "Samantha this is Charlie," Druex said finishing the introduction.

"It's very nice to meet you," Samantha said sincerely.

"Likewise," Charlie answered.

Samantha and Druex sat at a somewhat private area in Justin's, P Diddy's restaurant, and ate their food with a minimal amount of conversation. Samantha was funny enjoying herself. She loved soul food and her macaroni and cheese was on point.

"So what do you enjoy most about being a performer? Performing live or being in the studio making music?" Samantha asked.

"Well I honestly have to say being in the studio. Most people wouldn't guess that because of the rhymes I write about being a player but I'm somewhat shy about approaching a girl I'm really into and usually when we perform live the girls be all over us. While that's cool on some days that starts to get old real quick. I like the studio time the best because we have more freedom. Our music is like our babies and to mesh beats together to make a hot sound and then rip it during recording, put it out and watch as everyone buys it and tell us how good the album is, is fulfilling to say the least," Druex answered.

"What about you though? Do you like having rich parents?" Druex asked.

"I've never really thought about it. I mean it's sometimes hard because a lot of the times I don't get to see my parents but when I do I always enjoy the time we share. Most people would think I'm crazy because I'm a teenage girl who gets along with my parents. I mean I have embarrasing moments when I wish that they would just hide but I love them and usually the thing they embarrases me the most about is being overprotective and making sure that I'm safe so I can't hold a grudge. For the most part I enjoy it. I mean I have great vacations, I have great clothes mostly being because I love to shop, and I have a few good friends. There are times when I'd wish my parents were normal like when i go to the mall and a lot of girls my age immediately assume I'm stuck up because I'm a Van Buren or when I have to attend certain business functions with my parents when I'd rather be at a movie or at home chilling in the living room but this is the life I have and I can't complain. I mean it could be worse. I could be poor with parents who don't care where I go, what time I get home, or whether I live or die. I have great parents who, even though can't always be there, make sure that they have time for me whenever I need them," Samantha answered thoughfully.

"Why don't you have a lot of friends?" Druex asked as an afterthought.

"Mostly because the only people around my age that I see on a regular bases go to my school and they're mostly people who picks friends by their status and I'm not into all that. If you're going to be my friend then it has to be because you like me for me...my personality, my good qualities and my faults. I don't want friends who only see me for how many zero's my parents have in their bank account and the digits on my trust fund. I have about four maybe six good friends that I know if my parents went bankrupt tomorrow would still be my friends and that's enough for me. I'd rather have four real friends then thirty fake ones," Samantha answered before laying her fork down and looking up at Druex expectantly.

"So are you ready?" Samantha asked him, referring to whether or not he was done eating.

"Yeah. The movie's about to start in twenty minutes anyway," Druex said as he paid the bill and led her to the black Cadillac Truck.

It was about eleven thirty when Druex got Samantha back to her condo. They slowed down their stride as they got to her door and she spun around to face him and said, "I enjoyed myself tonight."

"I had a good time too," Druex said with a smile on his face.

Samantha leaned in and kissed him gently yet passionately on the lips. "I don't know when I'll see you again but if you're in New York around Christmas you and your family as well as the other guys of B2K are more than welcome to come to the Christmas party my parents will be holding at the Tavern on the Green," Samantha said clearly.

"I'll remember that," Druex said before backing up a bit to let Samantha have enough room to get into her apartment.

"Good night," Samantha said before walking into her apartment.
