KEEPING IT GANGSTER
Chapter 5

Ayanna

The remix to One Chance's Look at Her played over the large stereo system and I made my way to the dance floor and winded my body to the music just enjoying myself. Smooth rhythm and blues just did it for me. This tall chocolate complexed cutie made his way over to me and I wound my arms around his neck and danced slowly with him. His hands gripped my waist as he slipped a leg between mine and began to grind against me while he softly sang the lyrics in my ears.

Tashima

I watched Ayanna dance with Michael and shook my head. She needed to be careful with him because he was one of those guys with a silver tongue but I decided to mind my business. I didn't know her from a hole in the wall and while I wasn't the type of female to stand by and allow someone to blatantly disrespect someone I came to a party with, she was old enough to handle herself.

Hazel

"Nigga if you don't get the fuck off of me!" I threatened my ex boyfriend Joshua.

He just didn't understand the fact that we weren't together but he would need to understand and accept it because I wasn't going to put a hold on my life for him. It was fun but it was over now.

"Shut the fuck up bitch!" he screamed.

"Bitch?" I asked him. "I've got your bitch."

Ayanna

I pushed away from the guy I was dancing with and headed over to my cousin to see what the fuck was going on. I'd seen her smack the guy who was holding her left hand in a death grip. By the time I got over to her Tashima and Kendra were already there.

"What do you bitches think you're going to do?" the guy asked nastily not caring that he was getting physical.

"I'll tell you what I'm going to do," I started serious.

"What's that?" he asked with a sneer as he took in my petite frame.

"If you don't get your hands off of my cousin I'm going to role play like I'm your mother and I'm going to beat your ass," I started.

      "Yanna, don't," Hazel started.

"Yeah don't get yourself hurt bitch," he started.

"I'm going to give you to the count of three," I started. "One-"

"Two, three," he counted the rest and I shook my head at him before quickly striking him hard in the throat with my fist.

He released his hold on Hazel and I put my hands together in one large fist before twisting my body and using every bit of my 115 pounds to slam my fist against his face. The dumb asses who were watching the scene looked on in amazement as I beat that dude's ass like he stole my favorite toy. When I was done he was lying on the ground with a busted lip, broken nose, and would no doubt have a black eye in the morning.

"Damn," Tashima said as she stared at me with respect in her eyes.

"What?" I asked as we headed back to the cars. It was unanimously decided that we should maybe switch venues for the night. Nobody said anything as we headed to Onyx for a night of clubbing.

"Are you coming with me?" Jabaris asked me. He'd stopped by my house to talk business with my father and stopped by my bedroom on the way out.

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"I got some business to handle," he replied simply.

"Am I to be a pretty face?" I asked him with a smirk.

He nodded and I motioned for him to take a seat as I headed into my closet to change into something a little more suitable for my position. Twenty minutes later I walked out of my closet dressed simply in a casually sexy red, black, and white printed Marciano dress that was dressed up with a pair of white Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. The dress clung to my curves with a plunging neckline in the front while dipping dangerously low in the back. Five minutes in front of a mirror produced a dark smoky eye with long curled lashes and blood red lipstick.

"How's this?" I asked Jabaris as I twirled to give him a 360 view.

"Perfect," he replied as he slung his arm over my shoulder and led me out of my parents' home.

Macarthur

I stood posted against the corner store in little Haiti when Jabaris pulled up with this bad bitch at his side. A frown formed on my face as I took her in and tried to place who she reminded me of. It wasn't like me to forget a face, especially one as beautiful as hers but for the life of me I couldn't place where I knew her from.

"What's good Mac?" Jabaris asked me as he hopped out of the car with his mystery woman at his side.

"Not a damn thing," I replied as I gave him a pound. "Who's this?"

"This is my dip," he answered with a smirk and the girl looked up at him with adoring eyes.

"I thought you were here for business," I replied knowing that Jabaris wasn't one for bringing females on the job.

"I am," he replied before nodding his head over to the side.

His girl nodded her head and turned to make her way towards the car and I bit my lip as I took in the back view of her outfit. Jabaris definitely knew how to pick 'em.

"Don't look too hard Mac," Jabaris said seriously before walking with me over to my car.

Ayanna

I leaned against the car, keeping an eye out for Jabaris, as I took in this dude Mac's block. There were several dudes posted on the corner, no doubt harboring various forms of crack/cocaine, while several others looked at me in hunger. To them I was just another hoe on the come up that they wouldn't mind fucking once or twice. Unfortunately for them it wasn't that kind of party.

"What's good ma?" a cute muscular hazel eyed dude asked me with a smirk.

      "Everything," I replied simply.

"Word?" he asked. "So you're Jay's dip, huh?"

I just arched my eyebrow before licking my red coated lips and said, "What exactly do you want to know?"

He knew he had to tread carefully. The wrong thing could get him killed so he said the one thing he knew would go over well, "Are you free cause a nigga's trying to get in where he fit in?"

"You don't fit this," I told him simply as Jay made his way over to me.

He didn't even bother giving the guy staring at me a second look as he headed over to the driver's side of his car and hopped in. I slid in beside him and leaned back against the leather seating as he put the car in gear and drove off.

Jabaris

"Why didn't you tell me she was like that?" Kendra asked me over lunch.

      "Like what?" I asked her.

"She beat the shit out of that guy without a blink of an eye or any remorse Jabaris," she stated as if that was all the explanation I needed.

"From what I heard, that nigga deserved it so I don't see the problem," I replied with a shrug.

"She's a blood isn't she?" she asked quietly so that no one would over hear.

"No she isn't," I replied honestly.

Ayanna wasn't a blood but she damn well might as well have been. Being in her position, she was privy to information high ranking bloods weren't even able to obtain. She wasn't official but she'd been on different 'missions' and was an accomplice to several drops. Kendra held a special place in my heart and while I love was genuine family came first. The girl was just fill of questions but none of them would be answered...not by me at least.

"I've been hearing shit Jabaris," Kendra started.

"Well the keyword in that statement is shit. Have I ever lied to you?" I asked her.

      "No but-"

"Then listen to me when I tell you to leave that shit alone. I love you girl but Blood is thicker than water," I told her staring at her closely. "Don't go digging for trouble cause you might just find it."

Ayanna

"So tell me again why you were with that corn?" I asked my cousin as we walked into La Perla.

"He was cute and, in the beginning, he was a sweet heart. Then he started getting all possessive so you know I had to dead that," Honey replied as she picked up a lace babydoll.

"Um," was all I said as I quickly began to finger through a cute black bra and panty set looking for my size.

"You know you have people speaking your name something terrible right?" Hazel asked me.

I just shrugged and said, "They have nothing on me so I could care less."

"You do realize that about forty something odd people saw you beat Joshua's ass the other night?" she asked me.

"Well it was in self defense of you and besides what guy is going to press charges on a woman who beat his ass? Especially a little woman like me. It would be a serious bitch move and if he thinks he's as bad as I think he do, he'd be too proud to do some shit like that," I answered with an unaffected shrug.

"You are a mess girl," Hazel replied as she grabbed this see through yellow cami and matching panty set.

"I got a question for you," I started gaining Hazel's undivided attention.

"And that would be?" she asked.

"What's good with Tashima and Kendra?" I asked.

Kendra seemed cool, if not a little suspicious, but I wasn't stupid and knew she was throwing out feelers. She wouldn't find out anything of importance but before I offered out my friendship I needed to know that these girls were trust worthy.

"You are not getting that," Hazel replied as I picked up a cute teddy.

"Why not?" I asked her curiously.

"Your father would have a heart attack," she answered.

"Well I don't plan on wearing it for my father," I told her before heading over to the register to pay for my purchases.
