Bonnie and Clyde

BONNIE & CLYDE
Epilogue

It was August 4th and it was Trish’s wedding day. Her maid of honor, Olivia, was helping her with her makeup. All of her bride’s maids wore black BCBG acetate jersey dresses with black open toe sandals. They all looked good and had their hair up in classy buns. Trish was dressed in a beautiful cream wedding gown that was fit for a princess. The top was a corset like bodice and the bottom just flowed. The bodice was beaded and just looked incredible. Her hair was also up and had different gems sewn into her hair. It was beautiful and she loved it. She wore a pair of white open toed BEBE sandals that she had thought was perfect for her dress and all she thought about was the man waiting for her at the altar.

All the guys had black tuxes, white shirts, black ties and cummerbunds and they looked handsome. Omari’s older brother, Marques, would be giving her away and she had invited her mother to come but she didn’t care either way if she made it or not. Her cake was beautiful and was the one she had always wanted.

It was a beautiful five layer cake that was made by Ron Ben-Israel that had white roses separating two of the tiers. She had seen the cake in a wedding magazine and had fallen in love with it. She called the number that was in the back of the book and scheduled a meeting with the brilliant cake maker.

As Olivia finished with her make up Marques walked into the back room of the church to tell her that the wedding was about to start. Butterflies erupted in her stomach as she watched her bride’s maid’s line up to go down the aisle with their respective escorts. She waited in the back room as she watched the line proceed. As the flower girl finished throwing her petals the wedding march came on and Marques guided Trish down the aisle.

She looked strait down the aisle and tears gathered in her eyes as she caught the eyes of the man who had stolen her heart. The man she had known for most of her life and had always treated her with respect. He had always been there for her and she had promised herself to be there for him as well.

Before their parents had divorced they had dubbed their children as the now-and-day Bonnie and Clyde and the name had followed them through their lives. After the separation they became even closer because their parents didn’t seem to care too much about them anymore. That is everyone but D’s mother. She was always there for them. Sometimes Trish found herself wishing that she had the mother that he had and a small smile graced her lips as she realized that in a few moments she would.

As she and Druex went over their vows she silently reminisced over all the times they had spent together. The times when they were friends and then when they became lovers. The years had really flown by but she was happy that she had the friends she had gained over the years because she knew that they had her back through everything. That was something hard to find and she was glad that she did. Genuine friends were hard to come by and even harder to keep as you all grown up.

Trish grabbed Druex’s wedding band from the soft white pillow and slid it on his hand as she recited the prewritten vows. The ring really did look good on his finger. Then again it could be because it clearly said that he was hers and he wanted to be. He smiled at her gently as he repeated the process and slid her sleeker wedding band over her finger.

“You may now kiss the bride,” echoed in their heads as they stared intently into each others eyes.

It didn’t take either of them long to initiate the passionate kiss. All of their feelings went into that kiss and it also caused a few of their sillier friends to cat call from their spots on either side of them. As the newlyweds walked down the aisle all they could think about was their future together. Trish didn’t care that D had her on the run. She didn’t care about the countless times she had been in juvi because she took the fall for him because right now everything was worth it. She didn’t care if people called her stupid, a fool in love, Mrs. Fredericks, or even Bonnie because at this moment all that mattered was the man standing beside her and that was enough to mute out anyone else’s opinions.
